Inverter damping resistor — Overview
The Inverter damping resistor is available from Konica Automation, ready to ship with full technical support and fast delivery.
About Inverter damping resistor
A braking resistor is necessary when the motor is stopped in a short time, as with a mechanical brake, or the load-side machine rotates the motor (regenerative operation).
Features
Rapid braking (short-time deceleration)
Use this resistor if the motor needs to decelerate rapidly or if an overvoltage “OP” trip occurs when the motor decelerates to stop.

Regenerative operation
・Use this resistor when the motor is in a regenerative state continuously in such a case as lowering a lifting machine or winding out for tension control.
・Use this resistor when the load fluctuates even during constant-speed operation, placing the motor in a regenerative state, as with a press machine.

When selecting the damping resistor, see the catalogs of the individual inverter models.
Applications & Why It Matters
This drive is frequently used for precise speed and torque control in pumps, fans, conveyors, and compressors, helping reduce energy consumption and mechanical wear across industrial processes. Selecting the right model for your load and voltage requirements helps extend equipment lifespan and reduces the risk of premature failure in demanding industrial settings.
As an authorized supplier, Konica Automation provides genuine parts along with the technical guidance needed for a smooth installation and long-term reliable operation.
